Welcome to a preview of the American Interprofessional Health Collaborative and the Canadian Interprofessional Health Collaborative’s 7th Bi-annual Collaborating Across Borders Conference! We are excited about the way the 2019 conference is shaping up and hope you will be, too when you see the line-up of speakers, sessions and workshops, and special events.

CAB VII is on October 20-23rd in Indianapolis, Indiana at the JW Marriott Indianapolis. This year’s theme is, ‘Crossroads of Collaboration’.

This signature event will bring together learners, scholars, practitioners, community members, and other enthusiasts working together to advance interprofessional education and collaborative care. The conference goals are to enable attendees to:

  • Share the latest knowledge about interprofessional education and collaborative practice.
  • Discuss important issues related to interprofessional education and collaborative practice, including policy issues, and how they might be addressed.
  • Form collaborative relationships.

In addition to a robust list of plenary speakers, you will hear updates and future forecasts from Dr. Barbara Brandt and Dr. John Gilbert. You will also be able to participate in a panel session led by Dr. Ivy Oanadasan to consider the promise and pitfalls of interprofessional practice in the real world.

We also have some great conference sessions focusing on education, practice, leadership, and policy and a special student track! This newsletter lists just a few of the offerings and special events being planned for you in Indianapolis. We hope you’ll find many more in the schedule to help make this one of your favorite CAB Conferences ever!
